Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2024

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Edinburgh offers an amazing opportunity for talented people from Sub-Saharan Africa. This scholarship is designed to support students who want to make a difference in their communities, especially in the areas of sustainability, climate change, and entrepreneurship. It provides access to 10 on-campus and eight online postgraduate programs that focus on creating solutions for climate action and other global challenges.

Who Can Apply:

The scholarship is open to anyone who is a resident or citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country, including refugees. Applicants need to be 35 years old or younger at the start of the program. They must also show they have leadership skills and have overcome big challenges in their education, such as financial or social barriers.

What the Scholarship Covers:

The scholarship provides full financial support, including:

  • Tuition fees for the chosen program.
  • Books and other study materials.
  • Housing for on-campus students or support for online learners.
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses.
  • Travel costs, including flights to and from Edinburgh.
  • Additional support for students with disabilities to make sure they have everything they need to succeed.

This scholarship is more than just money—it also offers mentorship, leadership training, and a chance to connect with other scholars and professionals, helping students grow into leaders who can create positive change.

How to Apply:

There are two main steps to applying:

  1. Submit your first application by 31 October 2024.
  2. If selected, complete the full application by 8 November 2024.
